Our Teachers

Jon Ethridge, MA (Mus), MISM, DipMusLCM : founded Musicmakers back in 2001 when the business had just one customer per week. Eighteen years on and he teaches piano, keyboard, organ, singing and theory of music to over 60 people at different venues across Bristol. Originally a trainee on a scheme run by the Royal School of Church Music, Jon was Organist and Director of Music at St Francis Church, Ashton Gate, from 1994 until 2004, during which time he played at literally hundreds of weddings, funerals, special occasions and Sunday morning services, as well as overseeing the development and growth of a strong choir. Since 2001 he has been a singing coach at the Bristol Academy of Performing Arts/Centre for Voice based in the Tobacco Factory in Southville and was one of two visiting music teachers at 344 Dance Centre in Fishponds for 4 years. He currently plays the organ for weddings and funerals at a number of venues across south Bristol and is also Musical Director and Conductor of The Top Notes choir. In 2017 he was awarded a Master's degree with disintinction for research in to the hymns of Sir Arthur Sullivan. Jon is available to teach singing to people of all ages and abilities.

Jennifer Allen: an experienced singer of many years with a particularly broad experience of performing to a wide vareity of audiences. Jennifer has previously worked as a singer teacher, focussing on the tuition of children, and more recently has spent a 3 year period working in the entertainment industry, something that has involved singing to audiences on an almost daily basis.
Jennifer is a young , friendly and sypmathetic teacher with a great enthusiasm and passion for singing and its teaching.
